My work (along with everything else in my life) is influenced by Christian faith, and I desire to work with anyone who feels their faith should be a major aspect of treatment. However, I strongly value social, spiritual, economic, familial, and cultural diversity, and am eager to learn about your inner world and approach your issues with all of these holistic elements in mind. We will use a variety of treatment approaches during our time together. These may include Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Brainspotting, mindfulness/prayer, faith-based counseling, and family systems integration.
Besides my clinical training, I bring a spirit of peace and humor to my work. I will take each small but significant step with you joyfully, bearing your burdens with you and celebrating small victories along the way toward growth. I look forward to getting to know you, encouraging you, and learning with you!
Hi there! My name is Mickayla Waldhauser and I offer individual counseling to adults and young adults who are dealing with adjustments, decision-making, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. Additionally, I have a strong desire to work with individuals in all stages of relationships. Difficulty with these areas of life can happen to anyone, but everyone deals with them differently.
I help people address these challenges by allowing space to talk freely, and I offer a new perspective on what might be causing these issues. My training in clinical mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and marriage/couples counseling provides me with tools to help you explore what you are dealing with.
My goal in counseling is to create a warm therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe to be vulnerable with parts of your life you may be struggling with, or do not fully understand. My aim is to make you feel heard, understood, and respected as we walk together on your journey of discovering answers to the things you are struggling with.
“Grace means that all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame.”

Outside of the office…
When I am not working, I am usually hanging out with my cats, watching the Office, going for a run around my neighborhood, exploring thrift stores and yard sales, and snuggling up with my daughter. These are my favorite ways to take care of myself and charge my battery. Also, much of my time these days consists of soaking up time with my husband and my baby girl, and planning projects to renovate and design in our home!
Educational Background
I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College outside Pittsburgh, PA and I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society. My history includes working with college students of various socioeconomic backgrounds and individuals recovering from substance abuse in an Intensive Outpatient Treatment setting.
In my Masters work, I focused all of my electives on Marriage and Family Therapy and worked with women at a pregnancy resource center, which gave me a big passion for women and low-income families facing unplanned pregnancy. I am excited to have the opportunity to use my experiences in my work at LifeSpring, and to grow as a clinician to better serve and treat those in search of help.
I have also completed the PREPARE/ENRICH Facilitator Program in 2024, and am now a Certified Prepare Enrich Facilitator.
