Hi, my name is Liza Krohn. I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) based in Baltimore, and I’m glad you're here!

I tend to look at the world through the lens of relationships. In therapy I invite you to explore your relationship with yourself, others, and how you relate to the world around you. It’s so common to find ourselves in patterns, relationships, or concepts of self that no longer serve us.

Therapy is a place where support and insight offered from an outside perspective can spark change. I believe that your personal strengths and knowledge of self are your biggest assets, and that therapy offers an opportunity for you to discover, or rediscover, your internal resources and make the most of them.

I am a trauma informed, strengths based, eclectic practitioner who offers a warm, supportive environment to navigate change. Together we will identify and work through barriers and challenges, both internal and external. Although this can be challenging work, I embrace humor and creativity, and will encourage you to do the same.

I specialize in supporting clients to navigate life changes, manage stress and anxiety, address relationship challenges and process grief. I enjoy working with individuals looking to improve their relationship with themselves and am rooted in self-compassion and a health at every size framework.

Every client is different, and I tailor my approach accordingly. I enjoy working with individuals across the life span with an emphasis on children, adolescents and young adults, parents and other caregivers. When working with adults my approach is person-centered and incorporates elements of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapies to support inner exploration. When working with younger clients I use an attachment-based framework and employ expressive and play therapies, as well as more traditional modalities.

I look to affirm and bring out the strengths in every person who enters my office, and hope we have the opportunity to work together!

Outside of the office…

I love to cook and am always looking for new recipes. If I’m not cooking it up myself, I also enjoy trying new local restaurants and coffee shops, and re-visiting old favorites. In addition to spending time with family and friends I love to hang out with my two cats and watch escapist TV. I also love to read, and am always looking for recommendations! Although there hasn’t been as much opportunity for it lately, I’m also an avid traveler and love immersing myself in other cultures and taking myself out of my comfort zone.

Educational Background

My undergraduate degree is from Goucher College, and my masters degree in clinical social work is from University of Maryland, Baltimore. While completing my graduate studies I participated in the trauma education initiative (TECI) and participated in the school’s behavioral health fellowship (BHWISE). Most recently my work has focused on children, adolescents and young adults, as well as their caregivers and family systems. I also have a background in mediation, during which I focused on supporting adults to build communication skills and navigate interpersonal challenges. I have also successfully completed Brainspotting Phase 1 and 2, as well as completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
