LifeSpringโs Approach to Anxiety Treatment
During your first two appointments, you and your therapist will talk about symptoms that are bothering you. They may be impacting your everyday life and bringing you down. You will likely fill out a symptom screening form, identifying current symptoms. This will help your therapist understand the type of anxiety you are experiencing. Together, you'll create a list of treatment goals that you would like to work on. Your therapist will also talk with you about the ways that they can help you address your anxiety.
Therapy is a safe space where you can openly share without judgment. You can learn more, gain perspective, and use new coping strategies to better manage your symptoms. If you lack an outlet to talk freely about your anxiety, use our office as your new outlet.
What is Holding You Back from Starting Counseling for Anxiety?
Itโs possible that your anxiety is also a barrier for starting counseling. Perhaps youโre nervous about talking with a stranger (a.k.a. new therapist) or about what your therapist will think of you. Perhaps youโre also worried about what others will think of you for seeking counseling. If youโre like many people with anxiety, you might also be making negative assumptions like, โthis will never work.โ If any of those things are the case, please know we strive to make sure that people feel welcomed at our office. Andโฆour job is to help you, so you can rest assured that your therapist will not be there to judge you. After all, many people do a good enough job of judging themselves on their own.
