Life can be a lot sometimes. You may be someone who is usually pretty good at figuring things out, but lately you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply not quite like yourself. Maybe something has changed in your work, relationships, health, or family. Or maybe you can’t point to one particular thing. You just know that what usually works isn’t working quite as well right now.
I especially enjoy working with adults who may look pretty capable on the outside but don’t necessarily feel that way on the inside. You may be questioning yourself, juggling too many competing demands, struggling with a relationship or work situation, navigating a transition, or wondering what you want the next part of your life to look like. Sometimes having a place to sort through what’s happening with someone outside of your everyday life can help.
My approach is warm, curious, collaborative, and practical. I want to understand what’s happening from your perspective rather than assume I already know. Together, we can explore patterns that may be contributing to how you’re feeling, recognize strengths and resources you can draw upon, consider different perspectives, and find strategies that make sense for you and your life.
I’m interested in both the science and the human side of how people change. I value research and evidence-based approaches, but I also know that people aren’t formulas. Sometimes moving forward involves trying something new; other times it means slowing down long enough to understand something differently. And while the things that bring us to counseling can be serious, I believe there’s room for warmth, perspective, and some laughter along the way.
I’m beginning my clinical counseling work as a graduate student at McDaniel College, but I’m not new to working closely with people. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked as a professional coach with individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations. That experience has given me the opportunity to support people through change, growth, uncertainty, work and life challenges, and the many competing demands of adulthood.
Maybe life feels harder than you think it should right now. Or maybe you're simply ready for something to be different. You don't need to have it all figured out before you get here. We can start with what's happening now, make sense of it together, and explore what might help you move forward.
“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'"

Outside of the office…
When I’m not working or studying, I love being outside, especially walking or hiking, biking, and kayaking. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, and keeping connected with my two adult children and one four-legged child (who would object to being placed third on that list). I’m a lifelong learner, but I also believe there’s a lot to be said for simply enjoying life as it’s happening and not turning everything into a self-improvement project.
Educational Background
I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College and hold a Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University. Before beginning my counseling training, I spent more than 20 years as a professional coach and organizational development consultant working with individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations.
My coaching background includes comprehensive ontological coach training through Newfield Network, as well as training in positive psychology, health and well-being, motivation and behavior change, strengths, resilience, and personal change. I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation and a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). My broader work with leaders and organizations is supported by additional training in communication, leadership, conflict, and organizational change, as well as my Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) credential.
