Why Shopping Local Matters, Even When Choosing Your Mental Health Provider
As the holiday season approaches, the idea of shopping locally and supporting small businesses takes center stage. From finding unique gifts to dining at neighborhood restaurants, buying local helps keep your community thriving. But have you ever considered the importance of "shopping local" when it comes to your healthcare choices?
At LifeSpring Counseling, we deeply appreciate the trust you place in us for your mental health care. Choosing LifeSpring not only supports your personal well-being but also strengthens your community in meaningful ways.
Why Supporting Local Mental Health Providers Matters
When you receive counseling services at LifeSpring, we hope you feel empowered by the work you’re doing and the progress you’re making. Beyond that, choosing LifeSpring means:
Supporting a local small business with a caring and dedicated team.
Supporting a female-owned practice that values ethical, personalized care.
Working with a practice that is owned and operated by a licensed mental health provider, ensuring decisions are guided by professional best practices and ethical standards for our clients and team.
This level of intentional care sets small, practitioner-owned businesses apart. It ensures that your therapy experience is not only supportive but also ethical, confidential, and aligned with your needs.
The Growing Impact of Large Mental Health Companies
Working with local mental health practices that are owned and operated by licensed mental health practitioners is more important than ever. Since the start of the pandemic when mental health became a hot topic, large companies have begun taking interest in the mental health space.
Some have gained attention for asking people to sign away their privacy rights. Others have faced legal action for breaking privacy promises. Some have misled the public with their inaccurate advertising, paying travel youtubers and influencers huge sums of money to say that you can participate in counseling services from anywhere (your pool, Japan, doesn't matter). If you've worked with us at LifeSpring, you know that such messaging is out of compliance with our licensing guidelines.
At LifeSpring, we believe in doing things differently. Our services align with professional licensing standards, codes of ethics, legal guidelines, and best practices. We remain focused on providing quality counseling services and individualized care to support our client’s unique goals.
Supporting Local, Ethical Mental Health Practices This Holiday Season
As you consider where to shop, dine, and seek services this holiday season, remember that choosing local extends beyond retail. By choosing LifeSpring Counseling, you’re making an intentional choice to support a small business that prioritizes your well-being and values.
We’re especially grateful for your referrals to friends, family, and colleagues. Since we’re ethically unable to solicit testimonials or online reviews, your recommendations mean the world to us—they’re the highest compliment we can receive.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we prepare for the new year, LifeSpring Counseling remains committed to being an insurance-friendly practice with a supportive team that makes therapy easy, accessible, and rewarding. Whether you’ve been with us for years or are just starting your therapy journey, know that we appreciate your choice to trust and support us.
This holiday season, as you make mindful decisions about where to spend your time and money, we hope you feel an extra dose of the “feel goods” knowing that you’re not just prioritizing your mental health—you’re also strengthening your local community.
Thank you for choosing LifeSpring Counseling Services.
