LifeSpring’s Approach to Brainspotting Services for Anxiety

Brainspotting can help you process anxiety-provoking situations, and it can help you address symptoms of anxiety. Sometimes there is a particular circumstance in our life that is creating our anxiety, and other times we experience anxiety and can’t understand the reason why. Brainspotting is able to help in both situations. Brainspotting can help us feel less anxious about a given situation, and it can help us gain insight and understanding about what we’re experiencing. Brainspotting can also help us calm our mind, body, and emotions as it is known for helping people move from a state of dysregulation to regulation.

At LifeSpring, the first thing we will do is meet with you for an intake appointment, so we can understand your history, current symptoms, reason for seeking Brainspotting services, and goals for treatment. When we meet for a Brainspotting session, we will ask you to come prepared with the topic or concern that you would like to work on in that meeting. From there, your therapist will help guide you through the Brainspotting process, so that you can work on that specific concern. Many times, people will tell us that they feel better at the end of the session or that their concern feels smaller or further away.

What is Holding You Back from Starting Brainspotting for Anxiety?

We have found that people with anxiety are sometimes nervous about trying new things. They’re often nervous about change, and they’re sometimes worried about whether or not they’ll be able to “do it right.”  At the same time, the idea of trying something that will help them address their anxiety can also be exciting.  Whatever questions you may have about trying Brainspotting for the first time, just know that your therapist will be available to answer your questions.
