Meet Alice Zhao, LGPC—Now accepting new clients!
Hi there! I am Alice (XiaoRan) Zhao, a multinational counselor who understands how stressful it can be to adapt to new environments or new life phases. Are you going through a specific change in life? I have experience working with adolescents and adults who struggle with acculturation, cultural biases, and adapting to new phases in life.
If you are an immigrant, an international student, or an international worker, the stress, anxiety, and fear associated with adapting to a new environment can trigger feelings of disconnection and loneliness. I’m here to support you and to help you work through these challenges, so you don’t have to do it alone. I use cultural theories and assessments to help you better understand your own culture and the one you are adapting to. In my work with clients, I strive to help them better understand themselves, truly accept who they are, and adapt to the world around them.
In my office, you’ll have a warm and safe space for you to be who you are. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you explore irrational beliefs, uncomfortable feelings, and undesired behaviors, we’ll work together to address underlying factors that contribute to your depression, anxiety, or substance use. We’ll utilize solution focused techniques to resolve situations that have become obstacles in your life. Together, we’ll create goals to help you navigate transitions and make positive changes in life.
