At LifeSpring, we work really hard to create a supportive work environment for our staff members.  In order to provide quality care for our clients, we have to care for our team. It’s one thing to read that on a website, it’s another thing to hear it directly from members of the team.

We asked our clinical and administrative team what they love about working here at LifeSpring Counseling Services in Maryland, and here’s what they had to say:

“In my years at LifeSpring, I've found myself in a comfortable space where I've been able to develop my professional identity, grow as a confident clinician, and learn about the logistics of working in this field with the incredible support of caring and wise supervisors. The community at LifeSpring truly feels like a team who care about me as a professional and an individual. The culture at LifeSpring encourages a strong work/life balance, which has led me to appreciate my career here in a deep and meaningful way.”

~ Mickayla Waldhauser, LGPC

“From the very beginning starting with my interview LifeSpring Counseling has felt like a welcoming team of therapists dedicated to providing quality counseling services! I know that I am never working on an island by myself and have numerous ways to get support from my colleagues. I appreciate the ongoing peer consultations and it always feels very safe to ask a question or reflect and consult on a challenging case.”

~ Lauren Powers, LCSW-C

“I appreciate how at LifeSpring we are people first and invited to show up as our truest selves. We value high quality clinical work AND fun as a community, and are there for each other.”

~ LifeSpring Therapist

“As a newly licensed clinician, I was looking for a group private practice that offered excellent supervision, a sense of community, and a solid foundation for my career. I found that, and more, with LifeSpring Counseling Services.”

~ Irene Burks, LGPC

“LifeSpring stands out from other organizations because of our sense of community. We care deeply about the work we do not only with clients but with each other. We welcome everyone from all walks of life/backgrounds. Our practice owner, Melissa, works tirelessly to make sure that our staff and clients are well taken care of. She is constantly thinking of new ways to better our services for clients and the community. There is no doubt that when you join our team, you'll feel supported!

~ Administrative Staff

“As someone who graduated college and entered the workforce at the very start of the pandemic, I was met with such flexibility and understanding by Melissa Wesner (LifeSpring's owner). She is here to make sure you love what you do and feel supported along the way. Whatever idea you have for your role (whether that's interest in a training or new learning opportunity), she is there to do her best to make it happen. Being involved in a trusting and respectable work environment is a game changer and impacts productivity and motivation, for which I have both when working with my team.”

~ Madison Hager, Marketing

As you can see, providing our team with a collaborative and supportive work environment is one of our top priorities!  We provide supervision, peer consultation, and other resources, so our therapists can feel supported and empowered as they provide thoughtful and caring counseling services that are rooted in best practices.
