Hey there! My name is Ali Miller (she/her/hers), I am a Clinical and Mental Health Counseling Intern from McDaniel College. I offer individual counseling to adults who experience feelings of sadness, worry, nervousness, and residual trauma from lived experiences.

Sometimes our anxious thoughts and feelings can impact the way we view the world. Our problems can become mountains or barriers that stop us from experiencing life to the fullest, but there is hope! As someone who struggles with anxiety, I know how difficult it can be to quiet the overanalyzing voices and overwhelming sense of fear that accompanies daily tasks.

Whatever you may be experiencing, you are not alone. I’m here to offer a supportive, judgment free safe space where you can explore feelings, thoughts and past experiences.

Together we will collaborate to uncover the underlying beliefs you hold and create a plan that is specific and unique to your needs. I tend to utilize strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that target intrusive thoughts to help individuals rethink and reframe their beliefs. The goal is to put you on a path to wellness so you can begin to love yourself again and become the person you were always meant to be.

As a former teacher, I love learning and utilize education and resources throughout therapy. I deeply care about others and their struggles. I bring understanding, acceptance, empathy and hope to the relationship and will walk alongside you as you face difficult struggles and celebrate with you in times of joy.

Starting therapy can be hard, but I will be right there with you, helping you every step of the way.

Ali is only accepting clients who are uninsured or under-insured.

Outside of the office…

When I am not working I love to read Thrillers while listening to jazz. Some of my favorite authors include Stephen King, Frieda McFadden, Taryn Fisher, and Gillian Flynn.  I enjoy the uniquely morbid and collect art made from animal bones and insects (ethically sourced of course!). I enjoy spending time with my husband, and our four cats Lupin, Albus, Regulus and Sirius. That's right, I’m a childless cat lady who also loves Harry Potter.

Educational Background

I completed my Bachelors in Education from Liberty University. I taught four years in Baltimore City Public Schools as an ESOL teacher and realized teaching wasn’t for me. I am currently working towards my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College and fulfilling my practicum/internship with LifeSpring Counseling Services.
